Weekly Traditional Capoeira Roda

Welcome to the only weekly capoeira roda in the Pacific Northwest hosted by the Washington Capoeira Center. Watch and learn something new about a cultural art from Brazil. This program is free to the public and made possible by King County Parks Youth & Amateur Sports Grant*, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Parks & Rec, ArtsWA, City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, Tacoma Creates, Capoeira Life by Shunpike Arts Collective, and Capoeira Vida by Empowering People in Communities (EPIC). Contact us for other free events provided by our NPO partners.

*King County Youth and Amateur Sports Grants supports fit and healthy communities by investing in programs and capital facility projects that increase access to sports, play, and outdoor recreation. By investing in organizations and agencies serving low-income youth and youth of color, King County Parks is working to increase youth access to and participation in physical activity.

Join capoeira roda trainings each week to prepare for our monthly roda and kids pizza party. Look for Saturdays and Sundays in Seattle and Thursdays in Tacoma. If you would like to contribute to potlucks, please no pork or nuts. Thank you!

In addition to our regular capoeira rodas, we have capoeira events throughout the year showcasing capoeira masters from Brazil, demonstrating at local festivals, and more. Stay connected in our email list for event announcements.

See our Calendar to sign up. If you have not yet, please sign our Online Waiver before coming.
